Domestic supply in India has not kept pace with the country's rising solvents consumption, making the country a prominent importer in the global phenol market.

Platts Petrochemicals Price Assessments: Phenol

While global demand for phenol is expected to be about 3% to 4% per annum for the next few years, India’s demand growth is estimated over 15%, according to industry sources. Platts has decided to publish weekly CFR India phenol and CFR India acetone spot market assessments every Tuesday from July 12, 2016.
