Steel mill margins in China had been rebounding from end-year into April, aiding mill profitability and spurring "zombie mills" to come back online, but now see a weaker trend. Domestic steel prices have fallen amid weaker iron ore and raw materials prices.

Platts team leader for steel raw materials, Hector Forster, talks to Platts MVS senior analyst Miriam Falk about current trends for mill margins in China and for EAF mills in Turkey and the US.
